Not really a tactic. When the phone splits it, it still sends just as many texts. So if it splits it into 3 text it will still send 3 texts.
As far as being limited we are so lazy these days. If I have to text more than 160 characters I will just pick up the phone and call the person jeez just my 2 cents.

What if I don't want to engage in a conversation further than my long SMS? I have plenty of those instances? Or when my minutes are over? I don't like that there is this limitation... however, is it a matter of laziness? To an extent, absolutely lol
