It's been a few weeks, but my recollection is that it ran a setup wizard at first run to prompt for the pattern. Once installed, clicking the icon should activate the lock. The Options for configuration are under Options > Third Party Applications. From there you can re-configure the pattern, time delay, etc. My guess is clicking the icon is sending you to Options because you don't have a pattern set yet.
I have version 2.0.0.2, which looks to be the current version. Have been using it for a few weeks with no issues.
Try rebooting and/or reinstalling and see if that helps.
