Default Problems syncing "Desktop" contact list with Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to using a Blackberry outside of the work environment (and without work IT support!) so forgive me if my problem is a bit basic!

I have a 9800 on a BIS, and I run Outlook 2010 on my PC. I have 5 email addresses (2 hotmail based, and 3 others) which I monitor on the BB, and this all works well.

The problem I have is with contacts, which are sync'd with BB Desktop Manager on a wired connection.

I seem to have acquired 3 'contact lists' on my BB - one for each of the hotmail email addresses, and a "Desktop" one.

The hotmail based contacts sync fine with Outlook (with the address books linked to the particular hotmail addresses), but any contacts that are created on the BB in the "desktop" contact list do not sync at all with Outlook. I don't know why.

I don't seem to be able to move a contact from one contact list to another, so I cant just move them to a hotmail-based list and sync that. Some forum threads talk about ensuring that the "desktop" contact list is not set to sync wirelessly, but I don't even have that option when I look at the "options" list for the desktop contact list.

Can anyone tell me where the desktop contact list should sync to, and why it doesn't seem to be syncing at the moment?

Many thanks in advance

Chris
