7230 random hour glass???

Hi people. I wasnt sure where to post this as Im new on this forum so sorry if its in the wrong section.
Bought a 7230 of ebay recently (I know it was risky but it was cheap) and im loving it to bits. But I have recently started getting an hour glass on the screen that wont go away unless I take the battery out for a bit and put in back in.
This started to happen after I upgraded to the 4.0.2 os. It annoys the hell out of me as it just randomly decides when it wants to do it.
Any suggestions on how to sort this or is it just down to new software on old hardware???
