Default Sprint 8130 Radio keeps turning off!

Please Login to Remove!

As said in the subject, Sprint 8130 with newest OS stickied to the forum. After installing the newest OS without a hitch, the phone worked great, didn't lose any app's and/or data. Didn't receive any e-mails for about a week but then she caught up. In the past 4 days my radio began to turn itself off randomly. As of tonight I can't keep it on without continuously pressing the back button. I've tried a manual hard reset keepin the battery out for over a minute. There is nothing I can find in any settings that could cause this. Do I just have to reinstall or revert back to my original OS? I really need help because it refuses to keep connection.

I'm assuming your device was working fine prior to the upgrade, correct?

If it were me, I'd revert back to the original OS and make sure the same thing isn't happening.

How do I get Desktop Manager to revert back to my original OS?

Somebody else has started an almost identical thread, common problem?

You need to have the old OS installed on your PC, and then just uninstall the new OS (under Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs).

Then when you connect the BB to DM, it will prompt to downgrade.

On thing to note...when I downgraded my Sprint device, my address book would never (ever) restore properly. I couldn't even restore it from a manual backup I had taken when I had the newer OS. I had to restore from a backup I had when using the older OS.

So, make sure you have your contacts synced somewhere, like Outlook.

I've tried everything with this thing. It was suggested I downgrade to my original OS, which I did, still keeps turning it's radio off. I backed up everything and then wiped the sucker clean. I then applied the Sprint 8130 OS which I downloaded from BlackBerry. The phone is basically at its freshest starting point and is still managing to turn its own radio off, even in the middle of a phone call. After searching the forums it seems like this happens to others and the end result is always the same, new phone. I think I'm still under warranty and I also have equipment replacement so I'm headed to my nearest Sprint store.
