So i'm fairly new to BB's in general. I just got the new blackberry bold and have had a few problems.

a]When i load google maps mobile on my blackberry bold..it freezes at 10%, why? LOL

b]My blackberry (so does my brothers bold) seems to get the whole SOS problem at random times for like a solid hour or two.

c]My texts weren't sending today, it just had a pending sign for like 10 hours

I'm with rogers and maybe those two problems could be based off Rogers, thanks for any input and tips plus are there any other useful apps that would be good to have

All three seem to indicate network issues and if two bolds in the same vicinity do the same thing it may very well be that the coverage in your area is a bit dubious.

I'd make sure you have the newest sim card. Are you using the one that came in the box?

Good point. I have heard that an old SIM card can have issues.

Not sure this really covers things. I have not yet activated my Bold or logged into wireless networks. I have used with my own wifi network. I am seeing memory leaks of about 10 MB a day. Also errors java.lang.outofmemory errors and big issues with page rendering.

Maybe later firmware 134 will work better. I have the original firmware 126 only. Also battery drain is significant compared with previous models.

Just wondering about googlemaps also. I don't have a data plan but iwas wondering how I set it up using WIFI. With it freezing at 10% when it loads does it have anything to do with the phone itself?

as stated above make sure you are using a new sim card ,then make sure the duds at rogers reg you correctly or you will have problems .also make sure your data plan is for bb's if it is for other phones causes a problem with bold.
