Need some help with this. Just created a theme file for my BB, need help with loading this to my phone. The file is saved as a ALX file.

You need to look at the folder where it was saved to (prob my documents)

There should be an ALX and COD file there.

Open the dtm and then application loader. Hit browse(depending on what verson of dtm) and direct it to the alx. Then hit next and it should be on there.


You may need a battery pull to have it show in the themes menu

the desktop manager keeps telling me there is an error and it has found no available applications...

Go into the theme creator again. Re-export the theme and place it on your desktop. Remember to geth both ALX and COD files.


Also, make sure that it is for a curve and not the pearl. (Its the 320 x something size for the curve)

alright I have an ALX and a COD file, but it is saying there are no additional files designed for your device. It's in the 320X240 for BB Curve, when I export is says for the 8300...

just wondering if I have 4.2.2 on my phone does that have something to do w/ it??

Yes. The new theme builder works for 4.5 and 4.6. Ýoull need to upgrade. In the sticky section of this post's parent forum is device software. Check and get the correct one. Install that, follow the directions to delete the vendor.xml

Then, it should ass just fine after u udpate

I was trying to upgrade to 4.5 or 4.6 for my phone, when I put in my PIN for upgrade info, it said my carrier didn't support anything higher than 4.2....I have AT&T, and a 8300...so I'm not sure. I've been looking for the JDE 4.2.0 and can't seem to find it anywhere since it's probably now outdated
