If you decide to download and test it, please remember to assign your convenience keys (side keys) to ShortcutBerry. Don't worry about loosing the existing assignment. ShortcutBerry can be programmed to assign 3 application to each of your convenience keys.

Also remember that to start an applcation, you have the following options:

1-Press the convenience key once and then do one of the followings:

- Start typing a shortcut
- Click trackball or Space key. Then either browse the list or type the shortcut. (this is good for the first time users, over the time you will find the option above even faster).
- Click 'Z' (or 'ZX' on reduced keypad devices) to get directly to your own shortcuts (you can program them in the config. page)

2- Press the convenience key twice to start the application that is assigned (customizable) to the Double Conv.Key Clicks. This is the case for both right and left conv. key.

3- Similar to 2, but now click the cov. key 3 times.

4- Similar to 3, but now click the conv. key 4 times

Hope you find it interesting.

I assume that you are the owner/developer of this software based on your posts.

If so, you need to pay to advertise your software.

I'm not aware that he has to pay to advertise announcing a new product. But it should go in the 3rd party software section.

It will be something around $4.99.
We may also decide to go to $3 range.

We are now in the process of testing a new version (planned release date March 17th, 2009).
If you happen to download and test it, it will give you 45 days from the day you install it.

Feedbacks are appreciated and will be taken into account for future releases.

This is a fun little app. I like the multi-click convenience key options.

One major issue for this user. I can't assign the Application Switcher (not in the app list) to the convenience key multi-click. That is a must have for a convenience key.

Shaun,

Thank you for your feedback.

We will add Application Switcher to the next version of the ShortcutBerry.

In Addition we will allow users to type in the name of the new application if it does not show up automatically in the list of apps.
We will also allow users to modify the pre-programmed shortcuts and apps.

That way, we hope to allow the users to configure shortcuts the way they want and enjoy the fast launching feature of the ShotcutBerry engine.

Stay tuned!

Default Fantastically useful app! How to make it better...

Please add ability to:

1. Launch PhoneFace
2. Press & hold convenience key option to launch
3. Launch RIM Application Switcher
4.Press & press & hold BOTH convenience keys on Curve 8320 to launch apps, etc.
5. Enable "clear field" to overwrite default settings
6. Enable copy & paste, so can copy email, sms, phone numbers from RIM Contacts
7. Built-in help or separate help file
8. Way to backup & restore custom shortcut settings
9. Make the confirmation buzz twice as long, give option to play a sound instead or in addition to. Allow user to select mp3 on SD card.
10. In convenience key multiple click shortcuts what can I put in "parameter"?
11. Larger fonts on the shortcut list & configurtion screen
12. Press & hold convenience key to bring up the shortcuts list
13. Free updates/upgrades from within app AND all custom settings are kept
14. Option to turn off pop up of shortcuts list with press of right convenience key
15. Instead of Z for custom shortcuts, how about a key that is quicker to find, like: Q, Alt or Left Shift or Spacebar?

It is on our product road map. Right now we are busy almost day and night to add the features that customers (owing BB with trackball) want in the existing ShortcutBerry. (Currently testing ShortcutBerry V2.00. Planned release date March 28., 2009)
As soon as we include the new features, we will port ShortcutBerry to Storm platform.

Mindguy,

Thank you for your feedback. We will consider them for our future ShortcutBerry releases.

Comments about some of your feedbacks:
1- This will be possible with ShortcutBerry V2.00 (planned release date March 28., 2009).
5- Possible with V2.00
6- Done in V2.00
9- Partly addressed in V2.00 (you can set the vibration time from 0(disabled) to 999mS)
10- If you select an application that accepts an input parameter, you should put whatever that application needs. (i.e. For MediaFile application, put a link to your media file. For Call application put a number. Other apps that accepts input parameter are: Browser, Msg_Email, Msg_PIN, Msg_SMS).
11- V2.00 allow you to set the font size for all Config.Pages.
