Got the new 9700 up and running. Did a device switch from the Bold 9000. Most of the stuff seemed to go well.

I have probably done 20+ OS upgrades on that 9000. I had custom ringtones for 20 or so friends. Over all those upgrades, several of them now appear in the Alerts page 3,4 or even 5 times. All of those duplicates came over to the 9700. I can't seem to delete the duplicates. I tried the DELETE under options. Just don't seem to go away.

Now the new "feature" in 5.0 allows you to set a ringtone for both the phone call and for other messages for each contact. The problem is, I really just want to know which e-mail account got mail... not who it was from. Is there a master location to turn off the ringtone for messages? I just want the alert for the e-mail account to play regardless of who sent it. I haven't been able to find it yet.
