Hello,

I recently got a 9700 and am getting on well with it, I am currently using a 3G SIM card.

I have been given a new SIM which says 'GSM' on it, I haven't used it yet as my BIS gets activated on July 1st.

I always thought that GSM was slow and unable to handle data, I am told that this is wrong and it will be fine.

Will this work well with the 9700 or will it take forever trying to email a picture?

You are confusing a couple things.

GSM is a standard, and your 9700 that takes a sim card is GSM.

You are thinking GPRS and that is a slow data rate (less than EDGE)

If you use the other sim, your BIS wont work as its on your 3g sim (calling it a 3g sim so you know wich one im referring to). If you want to use the one that says GSM you can if the following is true:

1. it is from your carrier (that the 9700 is locked to)
2. You call your carrier and switch the sim in thier system so the BIS is tied to the right sim
