Default I just got a BB and have some basic questions about synching address book

Please Login to Remove!

If I connect the bb to my computer and try to sync addresses from outlook & gmail. will it delete addresses that are ONLY in the phone address book? if yes, then how do I do it?

Probably best to sync up your information in one place (outlook or gmail) and then sync it to your phone. Lessen the chance of conflicts when syncing between different apps.

Thanks for the answer but even if I sync say, only gmail, the question stands: Will it delete any contacts that are in my phone address book but not in my gmail contacts or can I stop it from doing that? I have about 100 contacts in my phone (from my old phone) which are not in the gmail contacts or will it upload those contacts into gmail? I'm afraid to loose them.
Thanks

If you do a 2-way sync between your phone and Gmail, the numbers from your phone should get transferred to Gmail, and the contacts from Gmail should be transferred to your phone. A 1-way will over-write ("delete") data depending on which way the sync is.

I use Outlook only, but I'm pretty sure the same thing applies with Gmail.

As always, best to make a backup of everything.
