Hey, I've had this phone (9000 bold) since Mid-july 2012, and the wifi was working fine and stuff, on 31st, I wanted to check if I can find wifi in my friend's apartment, I found out he's got wifi, 3 green bars, he gave me the password, I connected but, I couldn't use anything (I use facebook app latest version, jmirc latest version when i'm connected to wifi), not even browser, I turned off mobile network and it couldn't connect. Facebook app said I'm not connected to any Wifi network, but I was..It worked ~1 month before that, after that I haven't honestly tried to find any wifi network.
I've recently changed battery because the old one was dying (would go down to ~70% after 15-20 minutes of music on headphones, with mid loud volume, 4-5 bars) so yeah..I tried to remove the profile, reset default wifi settings etc..nothing helped :<
I haven't tried installing an update to the os I have (last time I updated was around october..) so yeah..any help will be appreciated

I don't think so. What's exactly a Blackberry data plan?

BlackBerry data plan is the mobile data service specifically for BlackBerrys. Generally you need it to use mobile data on a BlackBerry, at least for BlackBerry apps and most third party apps.

The reason dc asked if you have a BlackBerry data plan is because many carriers do not allow wifi on a BlackBerry unless you have the plan on your line. This is the first question, do you have the plan on your line and is it active on the handset you are using? If so, then you can look at other possibilities. If you don't have the plan, then that is the most likely answer to your problem.

I don't have the plan. Wifi worked before as I've mentioned. I haven't tried calling them to see if they have it. I have another blackberry (same model) and the wifi on it works, but the screen is messy (I'll post another topic about it). I'll try updating the OS if anything..

Not sure why it worked before. If you are unable to use wifi anywhere, then that is the problem (no data plan). If you are able to use wifi at other locations, then troubleshoot the network where you are having trouble.

As far as one BlackBerry using wifi ok and the other not, there are possible explanations, it it possible you will end up losing use of wifi sometime on that other BlackBerry.
