This is my very first post. Let's see if I can make any sense.

So, my company has a Blackberry Enterprise Server. I recently got the 8100 (Pearl).

Our 3Com VOIP phone system automatically e-mails the users a WAV attachment of any new voicemail they receive. When I view such a message on my Pearl, it's like the software doesn't even see that there is an attachment, there's nothing to open. The phone administrator tells me that the phone system sends out the attachments in a ADPCM WAV format. Is this a format that simply cannot be read/understood by a Pearl? is there any update or work around that I can install to get around this?

And one other follow-up question: What do you guys use for running AIM on your Blackberries? Right now I use Ramble IM... but it's connectivity is very sporadic, it'll disconnect even when you're in an area with good signal. Any suggestions?

what version of BES do you have? you need to have at least 4.1.2 I think. The newest is BES 4.1.3 which supports .mp3 files as well. The BES will handle all attachments and convert the file to a format that the blackberry can use.

Check out the forum for a program called JIVETALK which is still in BETA phase but works extremely well. You will have to sign up via their website and go from there. It works with all IM connections. AOL / yahoo / msn / etc. It's FREE BTW.
