Default Bad time to purchase AT&T 8300 with 8310 due in Oct?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new potential BB user, I ordered a new AT&T 8300 yesterday and it's supposed to be here tomorrow. Then after doing more research, I discovered that the 8310 is supposed to be released by AT&T on 10/4. Am I going to have to return this thing the week after I get it?

I believe that AT&T offers an 30-day exchange policy, has anyone used this before? Could I exchange my 8300 (which I purchased online from the Premier site) for the 8310 in a retail store? Or does the exchange policy only apply to the same model?

If it does come out, you should be able to exchange it. Make sure it's still in "like new" condition. Personally, I would return it or not use it. The Oct 4 release is still a rumor, too.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

You could indeed exchange it for 8310 biggest difference is that 8310 had GPS. As far as coming from a premier site will depend on the store manager and what price you got it for as well as the nature of the business acct

Is GPS for sure the ONLY difference? I just got an 8300 from the AT&T store this afternoon, upgraded from a Pearl, and so far I really like it. If the 8310 will be out soon though and is more fully featured then I might have to make a switch...

8310 = 8300+GPS.

That's it.

You'll have no problem what so ever returning it! Best thing to do is call customer care first, tell em some story like your phone is doing random resets by itself! They'll comment your account, then just pay a visit to the store and make an exchange! at&t is usually real good like that, just be real cool with the sales rep, and say you'd like to try out the 8310! You should not have a problem regardless!
