Good afternoon good people, question

I currently have an 8530 for Sprint, have been in search for a 9650 for sometime now and finally found one today and purchased. Catch is, it's originally for Verizon but is unlocked. Can I get this to work for Sprint? Customer service says no, but then what is the point of it being unlocked if you can't use it for another carrier? I'm hoping she just didn't know what she was talking about. She claimed the ESN isn't in the system and Tech said the samething...

Is that true? Did I just buy a phone that I can't use?

The GSM portion is unlocked so you can use a GSM carrier abroad.
CDMA cannot be unlocked.
Verion won't activate Sprint devices and Sprint won't activate Verizon devices.

Yes, you bought a device you cannot use on Sprint.

Well that just sucks doesn't it. Good thing I got it for a good price, will just try to resell it and get my $$$ back... Thanks.
