Question Sprint 8330 - Disable phone while on Tethered

Please Login to Remove!

At my company we are considering switching from data cards, to tethered blackberrys, but we have applications which requires a constant connection while being used...

When trying out the tethering on the blackberry the connection dropps as soon as a call comes in, before I answer the phone.

Is there a way, without manually forwarding the calls, to disable voice services when the phone is in modem mode...

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Maybe putting the profile on off. Just a suggestion.

I will try that;

but I think that it will just stop all ringing and vibrating, the bb might still acknowledge that a call is trying to come through, and pause (drop in my case) the connection...

you might be on to something, I just tried a dry run (without tethering) the phone didn't even show that a call was comming through, but it might have been because I had no signal... we'll see...

I don't believe there is a way to disable the phone, but perhaps you could just set all calls to foward to voicemail?

Tried Last Night, using a ping -t test

as soon as the phone started ringing the connection paused. as soon as the phone stopped ringing the connection resumed

The call forwarding probably would work, but is there a way for it to be automatic, as some of the people that would be doing this might forget
