Default I just got my Blackberry (Verizon)

Please Login to Remove!

Is there anything that i SHOULD/MUST get? :D

I have BeeJive right now and it is a really awesome IMing program!

Is there any other good stuff or tweaks on the blackberry I should do?

THANKS!

BeeJive is the only 3rd party program I have so far on my blackberry.

Also, would you recommend Google Maps over the map program pre-installed on the blackberry?

i would say you get "soft reset" its a program that simulates the reboot like when you pull the battery, only you dont have to actally pull the battery. def a must have program for the pearl because you will need to do battery pulls at some point

I also recommend downloading and installing Viigo, which is a free newsreader. I like using the Opera Mini web browser as well.

I have SoftReset and BBWeather right now. Is the Opera Mini web browser better than the browser that is pre-installed?

As far as I'm aware, colorpearl doesn't work on the 8130s? No colored LEDs under the trackball

And Opera mini is pretty cool, It shows a zoomed out view of your web page your on, then you scroll over to the part you want :P I like it a lot!
I learned you can't post myspace bulletins on it though lol

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

On the mapping program, especially if you have gps, try both google maps and the native bb maps. I've had both and used both, depending. And see http://home.comcast.net/~tamsterra/O...kberry_GPS.htm for much good info.

I was under the impression Opera mini didn't support the 8130 w/Verizon?

Where can I get this "soft reset" program? Is it free? I just got my 8130 literally about 2 hours ago, I had to do a battery pull as soon as I got home becuase the MMS didn't work right away. And pulling the battery on a 8130 is even more difficult than on the 8830 which I didn't think was possible...lol.

You can get SoftReset here: geek and proud - BlackBerry Software

I'd also get a Skin from Best Skins Ever Home Page to protect your Pearl.

The Verizon employee told me my screen on the 8130 was almost impossible to scratch and that I didn't need to get a cover for the screen.. He was wrong and now I have a tiny scratch on my screen that is driving me insane
