What is the speed difference between a USB cable and a BT wireless 2.0 usb adapter using it as a modem? I'm tired of the usb cord. I just bought a

I don't know the numbers, but the USB cable will be faster, is what I have read around here.

I haven't actually timed it but can't say I see much difference between cable and bluetooth.

well... the existing devices are only 1.5mb/sec transfer. the 8330 is USB 2, and will top out at 60mb/sec via USB.

According to the two links you gave me, USB gets up to 480Mbit/s & Bluetooth gets 53 - 480 Mbit/s so its about the same. Why are some saying USB is faster?

I have yet to open the Bluetooth box. Should I take it back? Using the USB cable is not that big of a hassel. Are there other uses for the bluetooth beside using it as a modem with my laptop?

I rarely use bluetooth on my laptop at all. I have a small bluetooth dongle and almost never use it.

it doesnt matter what the max of each technology is. this is what the BlackBerry does.

Max is sometimes just theoretical but I'll stick to the fact that USB is faster than BT.

It sounds like Bluetooth is just a bunch of hype... I think I wasted $35.

Well i have both. USB for media, and bluetooth for backup. when i walk into my house all my devices backup to my server. but media is MUCH faster on USB

I use BT and USB for the modem. BT gives me a max of 400kbs. USB I get 700kbs+.

USB is still faster for backups, but bluetooth is definitely convenient if you need to make backups often.

or multiple devices. by the time i could get to my server (the roughly 30ft) more than 1 device has backed up heh

I use both and don't see any difference between USB and Bluetooth. They both seem pretty fast. I rather use Bluetooth. No cable and I don't even have to take my BB off my belt to log on the net.
