Default Is there a way to enter addresses from my PC to the 8130?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

New to my 8130, great device. I had my phone numbers & contacts from my old phone transfered to my 8130 when I bought it, but most didn't have addresses or emails - wasn't needed on my old phone.

I now want to edit many of them and would like to do it on my PC. I use outlook but many of my contacts there I don't want in my phone & visa versa. Is there a way I could download my address book to another app, edit them in that app on my PC & then upload them back into the BB? I was surprised to not see such a function in their desktop manager.

I suppose I could create another contact list in Outlook & manage it that way. Is there a way to upload just a specific contact folder from Outlook into the BB (again, I don't want all of my contacts there)?

Thanks!
Bob

Yes, you can choose which folders are synced. Go into the "configure sync" screen and you can set the folders there. Go to the Configuration tab, then click Configure Sync. Then for each area of synchronization (address book, calendar, memo pad, tasks), click on the "Choose" button in the upper right to pick and choose the folders to sync.

BTW, that is exactly what I do, I have a subfolder called "Phone Contacts" that gets synced with my BB.

I found this method on another, excellent website. It explains how to export your address book from your BlackBerry into a .csv file that can be opened in an Excel spreadsheet, edited, and transferred back to your BlackBerry using the Desktop Manager. I've exported mine, edited it, but haven't had time to transfer it back to my phone. The web address is:
