I just received my third BlackBerry Torch 9860, hopefully this one won't break down in a few days time... *knocks on wood*
I've been having one software issue with it that really annoys me. For some reason I can't manage to completely turn off Facebook integration. In the Facebook app (latest version) I disabled notifications and set "check for new feeds" to "never". I did the same in the Social Feeds app (disabled all app integration). However, Facebook notifications keep popping up in the home screen's notifications bar underneath the clock all the same.
How do I stop Facebook from doing automatic checks and pushing notifications without constantly logging out? One would think that I disabled everything there is to disable...
NM: Stumbled upon the fix: disable all email notifications in Facebook > Account > Notifications.

Re: [9860] BB OS7 Facebook integration
My wife is having the same problem with her 9800 but I am not having the problem with my 9800. I think there must be some software differences between our phones, even though they are both 9800 "Torch".
Turning off all notifications in Facebook online using a computer doesn't stop them coming in, nor does turning off all notifications on the phone so, what is the answer?
Anyone know?
The old app 1.9 didn't seem to keep pushing notifications through when it was turned off....but the new one, 2.0 does, that's one reason I went back to the old app...
You'll have to delete your current one first....just make sure that link is still working before you do. If you then get a message off BB to update, don't cos it will take you straight back to the version 2.0.
