I just installed software 4.0

I am using Outlook with a POP account. That account automatically forwards to my BB account.

I want WIRED synchornization of my e-mail to my handheld.

Can I do that with version 4.0?

Wireless sync is only available if you have BES 4.0 if I recall? Check out Mailstreet www.mailstreet.com they offer hosted Exchange and BES 4.0

technically yes, practically you'll run into problems.

If you are looking for WIRED e-mail sync, or e-mail sync of any kind, you can't do it. The BlackBerry does not sync e-mail, WIRED or wireless. It forwards e-mail, either through the BWC, the BES or the Desktop Redirector. It does not sync.

You can sync to Outlook for tasks, calendar, notes and contacts, WIRED, using the Desktop Manager program, with the included Intellisync program.

On a related point ...

This presumably means that if I' using a BB (without a BES) through an operator's BWC (T-Mobile UK) it is not possible to have Sent Items show up on my BB that originated in Outlook, or by the same token, have Sent Items that originated on my BB show up in Outlook.

Is that correc?

Not completely true...........you can set up options in your BWC to send a BCC to your outlook everytime you send an email from your Blackberry. You can also BCC to your blackberry whatever you send with outlook. So it takes a few extra steps, but it can be done.
