Default Upgrading OS via Handheld configuration Tool

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.
Hopefully this is not a stupid question, but here goes.

We have a bunch of 8830's running OS 4.2.2.123
I want to upgrade them to 4.2.2.176

I've installed the OS on the server, run apploader.exe /reindex
When I look at the software config, it shows 8830 Series Software with 4.2.2 under Version.

I have installed the BES Admin tools onto my workstation (Handheld config tools, Blackberry manager) as well as the desktop software.

I plug in the blackberry to be upgraded, assign the software config, and then choose Load handheld
Nothing happens.
I choose Interactive load, and I get the message that there is no software loaded on my machine.

I then installed the 8830 software on my machine for V.4.2.2.176

I run the load again, same result.
I run the interactive load again, same result.

I open up the desktop manager and choose Application loader, and it allows me to upgrade the OS.

What am I doing wrong? I've followed the instructions from Livelink - Redirection (correctly I think). Or can the Handheld config tool not do that small of an upgrade?

Environment as follows:
BES: 4.0.7.11
Exchange 2003 SP2
I have version 4.0.4.6 installed on my workstation. I`m going to try upgrading that, but if anyone else has any answers I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Texx.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot upgrade the OS on the device via the configuration tool. This can only be done using the desktop manager as of right now. This supposedly will be changed so you can use the config tool in Release 5.

You can update devices via Web Desktop Manager if your looking for a more centralized approach.

Well that bites.

Anyone know if the desktop manager can do multiple OS upgrades at the same time?
