I'm debating on upgrading from my BB Pearl to a Curve. My big fingers just can't get used to the Pearl keypad so I want to give the QWERTY keypad a try. Who has made the change and can you share good and bad of the switch? Also, can I take all my info from my Pearl and transfer it over to the Curve?

I got the pearl because size was an issue for me... never had a BB before the pearl and always my issue was having the smallest cellphone possible... however quickly learning that the BB is anything but a cellphone I would love to upgrade to the curve and take advantage of the full keyboard and bigger screen... dam bell and the 3 year contracts and 2 years between upgrading

I went from a Pearl 8100 to my Curve 8230. Depends on really what you would want...if you want the ability to have a qwerty keypad so you don't have to use the suretype then the Curve is great. I love being able to write whatever and not have to add a word or something like that.

They are pretty much the same phone except that and the screen size...well depending on which Curve you get. I have WiFi on my Curve instead of not having it on my Pearl.

And yes you can transfer all your stuff over using the device switcher on the Desktop Manager

I recently went from the Pearl (8130) to the Curve (8330). I like SureType (really), but I like the larger screen of the Curve - and the full keyboard does come in handy for the words the SureType just can't seem to get.

I have gone from a Pearl to a Curve. I love the Curve. The only "noticeable" problem I have had with it is that the network coverage is less in my home, which is probably from the radio signal. Although I have been told that, if anything, it should be better instead of worse. I am able to use wi-fi with the Curve, although now I am having problems with the UMA also which has worked for two weeks and has since stopped, so nothing seems to work in my house now. I'm wishing I had never traded up.

I recently tried to "upgrade" to an 8320 from a Pearl. Just couldn't do it! I gave it two weeks. I have a long history of using SureType and the full qwerty just wasn't working well for me.... The keys are smaller and are spaced which may have something to do with it. I really wanted the bigger screen but in the end it just wasn't worth the hassle. Now, I'll just wait for something to come along that makes the hassle of reteaching myself worth it!

Talking on a small phone like the Pearl is nice. Especially with long conversation.

I went from the pearl to curve kinda forcefully, but I am enjoying the full keyboard. I would make the change again.

I went to a curve to a Pearl and i miss it everyday. :( the typing is slower and the smaller screen makes watching movies and Ebooks on the bus harder to see. But other then that its a the same phone

That's one thing I do miss about the Pearl is the size...it doesn't seem much but if you carry it in your pocket a lot you can tell. Typing on the suretype was faster to me after you got used to it and the words were added in it. Word wise the Curve is much better but typing texts was faster with the Pearl

I thought about it when the ear piece in my 8100 crapped out about a month ago. Had the 8100 since Dec 2006. The bigger screen of the Curve is cool, but the small form factor of the Pearl is what I am talking about! I ended up upgrading to another Pearl, the 8110.

I currently have both a Curve and a Pearl. For talking, I defiately prefer the Pearl, but the larger screen is much nicer on the Curve. I'm still slower at typing on the Curve as I was used to SureType, and the buttons are actually bigger on the Pearl, but I'm gettin accustomed to it.

does the Curve have the SureType capability? I like that feature on the Pearl about 90% of the time, and 10% of the time I don't especially when I spell out fool instead of cool to a client...etc.

another party heard from...I made the move, and I am pretty happy with it. don't miss sure type at all.

Seems like the speaker phone is better, which I use alot.

Did it. Love it. It's a bit different going from suretype to a full qwerty but it's definitely worth it.

The Curve doesn't have Suretype but it has the Auto text to were you can put things in to replace certain abbreviations of add the 's on words

I went from a Pearl to the Curve when the GPS Curve came out, but as soon as the GPS Pearl came out I went back. I love the small size of the Pearl, and even though on paper the Curve is only a little bigger in reality it's a pretty significant difference in size.

i went from an 8100 pearl to the 8320 curve and now im back to the 8120 pearl. and honestly i missed sure type, they brought all the features from the curve over to the new pearl and added some. video capture, hot swap memory card slot (comes in handy if your huge on dowloading media and have multiple cards) and the size i missed most of all. i did like the curve the entire time i had it. but the new pearl is top notch in my opinion. and from someone who has had a lot of blackberrys its the best so far.

I like the Pearl's size that's why I picked it up instead of the Curve. Although, the Curve
does seem like it has more features. Not too sure, since I barely got to play with my sisters'
