Does anyone know of a way to add non-dialing text after a phone number. I want to do this in address entries where I have an entire family's contacts listed. FOr example I want to enter 256-7658999 wife to differentiate the wife's cell phone from the husbands. I can do this by entering a wait, but during the call it asks me if I want to dial an extension, the text I have entered (wife in this case). This is an ok solution because I just tell it to ignore the extension. I just wanted to know if there was a character as in Visual Basic Programming which would cause the phone to ignore the rest of the information on the line. Thanks for any suggestions.

Any text in the field will dial. The best option is to create a separate entry for EACH family member. Their is no good argument for doing what you're describing.

Jsanders is correct - you are better off creating separate profiles for each family member.

Maybe we're missing something but why wouldn't you create separate contacts? A number of the BB's features aren't going to work quite right with your approach.
