Post Need to turn the internet function off (Orange UK).

Please Login to Remove!

Here's the situation:
Literally just purchased my Blackberry Bold 9700, however since I upgraded my contract (Orange UK) I need to wait THREE weeks before I can plug the SIM in, because I didn't have the internet on my old contract I need to wait to the new bill arrives before I can use it on the new one.

This would be fine if I didn't use the internet, however the Carphone Warehouse told me that since the Blackberry uses GPS and stuff it is constantly downloading data. Is there anyway to turn this off so I can actually use my phone? :(

I think I may have found the setting however I want to double-check with you guys before I end up with a huge bill that I can't afford (I'm a poor student lol).

Thanks, and sorry if this has been posted before but I'm in a rush.

P.S
Orange say I have "unlimited" but the guy said it's actually 1GB, is this enough to browse standard websites and use the chat for around 5 - 6 hours a day?

That's what I thought, thanks a lot, I'm so glad I can actually use my phone lol.

So you're 10000% sure that in 3 weeks I'm not going to receive a bill for an insane amount of money from Orange (due to the internet use)?
