Hello,

I am currently looking for a replacement phone for the HTC Wildfire.

These are my choices/options :
1. Blackberry Curve 9360 - £21 P/M Contract.
2. Blackberry Bold 9780 - £21 P/M Contract.

The phone will be used for the following ;
In order from most to least :

i. Socializing (Facebook/Twitter,. etc. )
ii. Texting (MMS, SMS)
iii. BBM (Blackberry Messenger.)
iiii. Surfing the Internet (Web Browsing)
iiiii. Making phone calls.

I hope I have given sufficient information regarding the question, in comparison to your answer.

All advice and opinions will of course be greatly appreciated and accounted for ; Also, a reason for choice would be appreciated.

What carrier? You should pick a cell carrier that has the coverage where you need it first, then pick the device. And IMHO, you should get a device that your selected carrier supports.

Both devices you name will do the 5 things you outline equally well. Basically it is a matter of which one you like. Go try one out and see how it feels and how it works for you. Keep in mind that you will need a Blackberry data plan (a.k.a. bolt-on by some carriers) i, iii and iv and probably MMS (depending upon the carrier you use).

Also, please read through the individual sections for each device and see what other users say and the problems they might have. Keep in mind, we generally only get the bad.

I take it the OP is saying those are the choices, and not what he or she wants, so sounds like the carrier has already been selected. Upgrade?

At any rate, the 9360 is a newer device and is running OS 7, correct? The 9780 will never run 7.

As Dubdub says, all BlackBerrys do the fundamental BlackBerry stuff. My advice is go to the blackberry.com or your carriers website and compare the specs and see if any details jump out at you as making a difference. Then handle the devices and see which one appeals to you. Offhand I would say go with the newer model, but you may find reasons you like the 9780 better.
