try this ... When composing a new email, scroll up to the "Send Using:" line then click wheel and select "change Option". Then select an available email account - - try the blackberry one first.

it keeps saying I am sending messages by desktop secure? what does that mean? I can't send pin or email, or sms. I keep getting red x. I turned my wireless on and off and I see a location base icon on the upper left what does that mean?
also when i send I get a vibrate and a tone after each cancelled message, how do i change this, I don't know where under ringer profile , what to change.

this is so frustrating

First... you don't have SMS on a 7100i you have MMS.. second... is the desktop that redirects your mail actually on? If you have the web client set up, you can scroll up to the "Using:" line, click track wheel and select "Change Option". If nothing else is there then you only have desktop set up.

I also can't get my device to charge. I plug in the car charger and it won't light up a icon on the left side of the screen. I plugged it in during the morning church service and came out with a bar any higher. the device is on low but been that way for over 3 hours. the led is still green and was that way all last night on empty.. strange. I wonder if a reset will fix the battery bar meter?

Can't hurt. You have some major issues if you only get two icons (Nextel online is the wap browser) but you should have a screen full. It is almost like you are not setup at all?

Let me ask a really dumb question? Has this ever worked in YOUR hands? How did you get it and have you EVER set it up? I think either way you need to start at ground zero.

I have a funny feeling that the device has not been set up for a BB data plan through his provider. People not used to BBs may not be aware and think it is as simple as taking it out of the box and change the voice plan over to it and they are good to go. I am not trying to be curt here just trying to point out what may have not been obvious to some.

Tritan I suggest you call your provider and make surethat you have a data plan activated and that all the appropriate service books have been sent to you and that you have properly registered it as well. If you have done all of this already and the device had been working previously then I think that there may be something seriously wrong with it and it may need to be in for a technician to evaluate.
