Default New BIS 2.0 Thread/Question

Please Login to Remove!

Ok I've read Stinsonddog's Tips and tried to follow the BIS 2.0 upgrade threads. Out of all that, I have tried to extract an answer to my specific issue, but apparently I am too dense to figure it out. So here goes with my question:

What am I trying to resolve is if I can maintain gmail instant forward capability and still utilize the ability to specify the "sent from account" option. It appears that I can choose the sent from address for any accounts that I have integrated with polling, however, I do not want the delay associated with that. So if I upgrade to 2.0 (Cingular), and continue to foward my gmail to my blackberry.net address, will I be able to 1) specify a sent from address in email I draft?, and 2) will my reply address on received emails be the same as the one that the email was sent to?

I am a bit confused by your post, but I will take a shot at answering your questions.

With BIS 2.0 you have the ability to choose any of the addresses you have set up in BIS 2.0 as your Sent From address when composing a new e-mail. When the person receiving the e-mail responds, they will use the e-mail address the e-mail came in under.

Now if you want to use only your Gmail address for sending and receiving and have Gmail set up to forward to your blackberry.net address (this would be the only account that is forwarding to your blackberry.net address), then you should do the following - 1. Edit your blackberry.net address in the BIS 2.0 web interface. When you are on the edit screen, enter your Gmail address as the Reply To address. Click save.....2. When composing a new e-mail, select your blackberry.net address as the "Using" address. When you send your e-mail, the recipient will think it is coming from your Gmail account and when they respond it will respond and go to your Gmail account....At this point Gmail will forward the e-mail to your blackberry.net address and you will get it instantly.

Hope this helps.
