Default Question about the Agenda View in Calendar

Please Login to Remove!

I prefer the Agenda View for my BB calendar, but I have noticed that if I use the agenda view, and I have Show Free Time OFF, when there is no appointment scheduled for that day, the Agenda View defaults the date to the earliest date in my calendar (some 5 weeks previous - today it's showing Feb 1, 2007). If I set Show Free Time to ON, then it show the current date correctly.

Has anyone else noticed that odd behavior? Does anyone have a fix for it?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If I don't have any in that day it goes to the next day with an appointment for me.

Exactly the same strange Agenda problem with my 8800. Any solution?

Same here. In fact, mine displays the day I set the BB up.

Maybe I found a solution. I deleted the Event in the past to which the 8800 always jumped upon opening the calender. Now it works and goes to the first outstanding appointment/event.

Still no dice. I deleted several appointments (the one the it pointed to, then the <new> one it pointed to when the last one was deleted, then ... etc)

I had to turn on SHOW FREE TIME to make it jump to the correct date... man, they can put a man on the moon and bring him back to earth safely, but they can't get the freaking calender to work right... go figure.

UPDATE: I noticed the the first several entries still showing in the calendar were birthdays, set as recurring annual all-day events.

Based on an earlier comment, rather than deleting them (which was NOT what I wanted to do, and deleting the first 2 did not work anyway), I ADDED a new appointment ('test') to my calendar for the day before the first birthday entry and it appears to have resolved the issue.

Thanks to all who looked, tested and offered help on this. Hopefully it really is fixed now, though I wonder what it is about recurring annual all day events that screwed it up in the first place.

Interesting. I've had a similar issue but mine defaults to August 15, 2006. There's a recurring entry on that day but the entries actually begin back on November 15, 2000... I'll have to play with this a bit.

I had the same issue and i found two solutions:

1. Show free time in agenda view (i did not like it)

2. Opened the recurring all day event that the Agenda kept jumping to (it was a repeating b-day) and i made it a timed appointment for one hour on that day.

For now i am sticking with #2 until i find something better, even thou mom now gets to celebrate her b-day for one hour
