I've switched from Verizon to AT&T, and the one big thing I am missing are the discounts that I used to get. Between school and work, I was getting about 20% off. I get neither with AT&T. They won't give me a discount for the school that I am an alum of either.

My question is: are there any other "odd" discounts that anyone uses? A family member suggested insurance companies or AAA, but neither works.

And not sure if I can say this here (if not feel free to edit it out or say so), but I've heard of people pretending to work for a company or school and getting the discount

Any other ideas to save a little?

P.S. I do get 5% off by setting up auto-pay on my charge card already

So you want a discount although you don’t work for a company that offers one or a school that offers one but you think you should by simply telling a carrier you do ?
Why do you think your entitled to any discounts? Let me guess, big business owes you.

there are many discounts available. do you still have you .edu email address from your school?

Nope :( I went into the store and asked about that, but without a valid email, they cannot do anything. And I can't get the email back lol.

I don't think I am entitled to beat big businesses, I am simply looking for a way to save money. And I think it's clear I'm looking for the most legit way.

is your company a subsidiary of a larger company?

Have you asked them about the place you work at point blank? The person who we were working with in the store told us that my grandmother (who happens to be on the plan) earns us 25% discount every month because she volunteers at a local hospital.
