Hello,

I have had my Torch 2 hours - upgraded from 9700.

The trackpad seems VERY unresponsive, I have to scroll like mad to get through the menus. I know that this can be avoided by using the touchscreen but would rather it just worked!

I am downloading the latest OS as we speak but would like your opinions as the shop closes soon and am thinking of asking for a replacement - the touchpad on the 9700 worked a treat and I would expect the same from this device...

I had no issues with the trackpad on my Torch -- sounds like it may be a hardware issue. Have you tried adjusting the trackpad sensitivity settings?

Thanks for the reply - yes I tried the sensitivity settings but they didn't work

Updating software now, failing that its a drive in the snow again...

Ok, software update didn't solve the problem.

Carphone Warehouse confirmed it was a hardware fault and replaced; the new one works perfectly.

Problem solved.

It appears that you're using the Torch simply for the sake of having a bigger screen. However, it was really designed for that purpose and, in that regard, you're going to get way less appreciable use from your Trackpad. The Torch is a touchscreen and therefore is used for that purpose. But if you use the touchscreen in conjunction with the trackpad, you should find that the combination is very efficient !!!!
