Could you please advise me of the upgradable s/w version for BB8830, My current version is v 4.2.2.176 its not allowing me to install any messaging services like gtalk,yahoo,msn etc...

Please letme know of where i can download the latest s/w and how do i upgrade ?

I would think that your issue is your data plan. Do you have a BlackBerry data plan and not a generic data plan?

Hi I do have a decent data plan (Unlimited)...when i try to install i get " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements thatt are needed to support Yahoo Messenger " its a BB 8830 WE Phone, Please advise...

Does Upgrading to new OS solve the issue ?

What is a decent data plan? Is it a Blackberry Data Plan?

Yeah it is BB Data Plan with Unlimited Text, Email and Browsing

I just had a look at Yahoo and GTalk in AppWorld. Your device and OS are supported, so I would suspect either you don't have a BlackBerry Data Plan, or it is not provisioned properly. I would suggest you: re-send service books, do a battery pull. If that doesn't work then call your provider.
