I want to deploy "Financial Times" and "Financial weekly" via BES 4.1.6 - i know the basics of how to setup this and push the apps, but does someone know where I can download the alx files for these ?

I'm sure you had a look at this: FT.com / Services & tools / News tracking / FT mobile
and I'm sure you want to deploy it so the user don't have to do anything.
Have you tried to contact FT to ask them for the files.

got in touch with them and they are sending them to me after we subscribe to their service.
