Dots / Dust under Storm Screen
Please Login to Remove!
Hello All,
OK...I got Dust!!! or at least I think
I know we use to get dust under the screen on the curves but we could pop them off and give it a clean...
Anyone got dust or know how to get rid of it??
I got little dots on the screen that don't clean off and are under the screen
thanks!

There are black dots which are visible depending on the angle youre holding to the light source.
As for dust, um, try a vacuum to see if it can suck it out, a vacuum like the ones office depot would sell to clean your keyboard. Usually they have a soft brush tip

If the dots that you are seeing are arranged in a grid, it is not dust. Those dots register where you are hovering and then pressing.

I just restarted my phone for a fully white background, and the only dots I see are the ones that are for picking up the electrical field within your finger to position the pointer/clicking in the right place...

I have this problem too. Its extremely annoying. It is clearly dust under/behind the screen and I've tried a vacuum and canned air both with no success. I keep it in a hip pouch and it seems to be getting worse by the day. Anyone else's this bad that they might try to get it replaced?

Screen protector on?
Check to see if it already has a screen protector installed. Mine did from Verizon. Peel it off..clean it and reinstall a new one.

I have the same problem - specs of dust - mostly on the lower right side. tried compressed air and it does nothing - it might even blows more dust in.
i called verizon and they're overnighting a replacement, but assuming it'll happen again, i'd like to find a way to address it.
anyone tried using a small computer/hobby vacuum (e.g. Dirt Devil CV-2000)? any other ideas to combat dust are welcome. thanks!

Hmmm... I have dots, but they aren't grid like... they are about dead center of the screen... I can see them when the phone is off! I took off the screen protectors that came on the phone... cleaned the screen and immediately put a Zagg IS on... only took it off after I saw this dudes video on CB showing how hard it is to scratch the screen... ANYWAY, I saw the dots before and after I took the shield off. Getting a new one Tuesday though...

I have the same friggin problem...its so easy to notice a few specs. I figure with the wide ass rim around the screen, eventually it'll happen...like to all my Motorola's in the past...but damn! Its only been 2 weeks! Its only going to get worse I think.
Anyone notice their screen might dim to a 8 level sometimes while you are using it? then it bounces back to super 10 brightness? yikes!

I was just putting my InvisibleShield on my Storm and saw the dust... somewhere under the first clear layer of the screen. it is NOT the screen protector the phone came with, it IS dust that is under a permanent layer of the display. how is this possible.

my fix is that i am returning the thing and going back to the curve, that will fix all of my storm issues! It gets worse by the day and so i think we are at the end, i have given this phone 3 weeks and 2 software updates and it is still not ready for primetime. In addition to the software bugs which if i hold out long enough may be fixed eventually there are hardware issues such as this and the "click of the screen" and a few others that will just get worse. I AM DONE!
I hope they do better with the javilin

Ditto, same thing happened to me. I thought it was just under the screen protector that came with the Storm, but when I pealed it off and tried to clean the screen I realized it was actually under the screen.
