Default Battery on last legs

Please Login to Remove!

When I first got my bold I took everything into account - lovely bright screen, 3G etc etc and accepted that the battery life would be poor.

It was actually better than I thought - I made quite a few calls - sent texts and emails - showed off the speedracer clip When I got home I would have 1/4 of the battery left - not bad.

As of yesterday I can send about 25 text and emails - the battery is dead after 9 hours on standby...

Tried all the usual but the same is happening today - sent 3 texts and battery half gone after 4 hours.

This cant be normal so will be asking for a new battery from O2.

So - the point of this post...

Has anyone else had 'good' battery life at first only for it to turn bad after a few weeks?

Thanks,

James

JSanders,

Thanks for the link - I will have a read and see what I can do. Although I do think that 9 hours from full to empty on standby indicates I have a dud battery The official quote is 13 days on standby!!!

This does not seem right to me at all. I know there are a lot of posts in this thread but if you cull through it you will find some tips and I have a feeling one of them will solve it for you. There has to be something. Are you on .190? If not you should be. Also, consider wi-fi, bluetooth settings along with application running in the background that may communicate with the internet.

Good luck!

Every new OS release seems to improve battery life - at least, the latest releases. Have you upgraded to 4.6.0.210?

I was on .190 - I have now installed .210 and the problem has gone (along with others). Thanks for the info.
