Default Can't remove password request".

Please Login to Remove!

I bought a bold on ebay and every time I turn it on it asks for a password the seller gave me the password but is there an option for turning the request off

That depends on if the BB had an IT policy

If the IT policy is set to require a Password you wont be able to turn it off unless you search here for how to remove the IT policy ( big pain )

you can check the status of the password and IT policy in Settings / Options Security options

All this has been covered here DOZENS of times

You could also Google it

On the Bold it actualy under options/ password. You can enable/ disable it there.

I had the same problem, you can't remove the password from the device if it was set by enterprise security policy
here is what you need to do to remove the password. follow the direction step by step, it worked for me

Also, you might verify that the media card isn't set to encrypt. If it is, the password enable/disable dropdown becomes locked on "enable" and the only way to unlock the dropdown is to remove encryption from the card.

That little "feature" only took me a few days of hair pulling to figure out.

That's an IT policy issue, You will need to follow Shambasha's link. That's the method we use to remove IT policy from any Blackberry. Here is the link again:

Wow! Thanks for that tidbit. I was able to wipe the IT policy by using JL_Cmder, but still couldn't get rid of the password prompt. If it wasn't for this post I may not have ever figured it out. Thanks!
