Default Can I cancel, change my phone?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there, I got the Storm on 18 month contract, but there is no way on earth that I'm keeping this horrible phone. It's clumsy and I literally hate it. I hate the touch pad, its slowness, that you have to hit like 3 buttons to do anything.. In my opinion, "a let down" is being nice when talking about this phone. This is just my opinion.

But, I'm stuck with a contract - is there anything I can do.. I mean, I don't mind paying £100 off my contract and then swapping the phone, but I do not want to pay 18 months.. Do you think Vodaphone would let me get a Bold?

Has anyone else managed to cancel their contract?

Thanks

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Or let it, I could use a laugh.

Thats a bit uncalled for.... The Storm is not for everyone... I love mine but can see where some might hate it..

OP...

Call them and explain the situation, they might be be able to work something out for you. If they can't do as suggested above. Sell the Storm and use that money to get a new device..

He's not going to like the phone, he has it set in his mind that it is a piece of junk. Glad to see him go.

I would have been nicer if he would have typed the OP in a different fashion, maybe would have asked questions instead of just bad-mouthing the phone.

He had the opportunity to try it out in the store before he bought, and didn't take it.

Honestly, when I tried it out in the store at first, I hated it. But I decided to give it a second chance, it has been the best phone I've owned

Name calling is not necessary. To each his own. Giving it more time doesn't mean they will end up liking it. Calm down.

You're right, to each his own. This is true. I apologize for the name. I removed it from my post.

However, it really frustrates me when people get on these boards and bash this phone like it's a bad Angry Videogame Nerd sequence. All the bashing takes away from people actually having an interest in it.

I am not saying if he gives it more time, he might like it. The first paragraph in the OP was uncalled for. He could've just said, "I decided I don't like the Storm, How can I get out of my contract"

THAT's what made me angry about his post.

If your phone is not working properly, then you should either return it or swop it for a different phone. Do not be fooled by the 14 days time limit. See what the Trading Standards say in the below article. Although they are talking about signal issues, the principal of "fit for purpose" applies to all aspects of the handset.

You get a little emotional because someone doesn't like a phone that you like. It's not like he insulted your mother. Are you like this about everything? If someone says they don't like blue cheese do you insult them?

I think it is very entertaining when some people just start attacking people who have problems with their phones.

Keep it polite. People are entitled to not like their phones.

OP, I'd also suggest calling your carrier to see what can be done.

I am not gonna sugarcoat what I say. I'll keep it clean, but there is a Rant forum on the other site if OP wants to ***** about his phone.

I played with the Storm and discovered in the store it wasn't for me. I would never bash someone for not liking their device, as everyone's opinion is their own.
The OP was asking advice on what to do. Let's leave it at that.

UK customers are having major problems with the signal. Irrespective of how brilliant the handset is, if it cannot latch onto the signal, it is of no use to anyone. Vodafone has recognised this issue in their own online forum, but they insist that if you have had the phone for more than 14 days, there is nothing you can do, apart from sending it for repair ! This is contrary to UK consumer laws as stated by the Trading Standards advice in the news article.
