Everyone still having some good success with this Beta since its been out in the wild for a little while now? (Just wondering because I was going to install this on my father's BlackBerry, he's not really tech savy at all.)

I'm still loving it. .77 was definately a step up. I had lots of memory issues with that version. The only beef I have is the media player. It's very "sketchy" with video and doesnt do the full screenthing. It is much better with the memory issue though. I do still however get the memory full error (maybe once every 4 weeks or so). I really never notice it until I try an OTA install. I simply reset the phone and all is well.

I am curious about the ringtone volume on .101. I just downgraded back to 4.2.2.176 from 4.5.0.51. I had a horrible memory leak, and it really got to me. Well, 4.2 is OK, but the ringtone volume is terrible. How is it with this beta?

I must admit, I kind of miss how nice 4.5 was. I hate that I already want to go back. :(

I have found the ringtone volume to be very loud on .101. It scared me the first coupla times I got messages. In fact, it almost seems too loud, as the ringtone quality is staticky, just like when you turn the volume up too loud on a stereo.

That is my experience.

been running .101 for weeks now, no probs. on Fri suddenly the whole thing frigged: constant hourglass delays (literally 50% of the time in hourglass hang), no data working (phone still did). even after battery pull. uninstalled third-party running apps, no go. wound up wiping it out, reinstalling, only restoring primary app data, re-installing third-party apps manually -- all good again. first time i've had this with any build. i'm thinking it was related to the several Twitter apps i had installed on Thu to demo, but since it kept on even after uninstall, who knows.

anyhow, not worried, think it was pretty flukey. .101 is still the best we got.

The more I read about it, the more I want to upgrade to .101. 4.2 is not that bad, but the little things are getting to me again. Different address book, horrible ringtone volume....I might do it this weekend.

Anyone know of when the official release of 4.5 for the 8830 will be released?
Or where can I download the beta OS? (disregard this, I forgot to read a little more. I deff did not realize that it was against the rules, sorry!)

All you have to do is Google it. I found it on the second link I clicked. Getting ready to upgrade back to 4.5 again.
