Hey,
So yesterday my scroll decide to kinda stop working, i can still scroll but i can't click with it and its really annoying, does anyone know how i can fix it without shipping it away for weeks?

has happened to me twice, fixed with a battery pull...did you try that?

yea that was the first thing i tried and no luck, i've done the most common troubleshooting and nothing has worked. Sometimes i really hate technology.

I just got my bold replaced yesterday because the scroll ball stopped scrolling down.

mine occasionally "freezes" where sometimes it wont go up or sometimes wont go down. keep playing with it and it gets fixed.

Are you carrying the device in your pocket? that typically happens when dirt or lint from your pocket gets trapped under and around the ball and covers the contacts.

To fix the problem, turn off the BB. Press, hold and then roll the ball, first in the direction that it doesn't work and then in all directions. Do this for about a minute or so. Turn back on and it should now work.

You can also press and hold the ball down and spray some "canned" air all around. Sometimes that helps clean out whatever is there blocking the contacts.

And finally, carry it in the pouch, not in your pocket.

thanks for the help, but the ball still dosent click, its really annoying pressing the button and nothing happends....
You have any other idea's on what i can do?

i fixed the problem! I bought a new bold

I had that problem sometime back, scroll wud work but the back button and trackball click wouldn't. I thought a drop of water went in. Pulled the battery for a day and then it worked.

I tried everything! and nothing worked so it decided to shell out the $850 for a new one.

Wow! Well that is one way to solve it! Do you still have the old device? Some might be willing to try and salvage it. If it were a scrolling issue a $10 part would solve it. The clicking is a different a story might or might not be solved.
