After you register, try resending the service books to yourself.

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Once there press the BB menu key and click on "Register Now"

Let me know if that works for you.
not sure what good registering the device with rim would do, but i'll try it out and see.
i usually send service books from tmobile's web site, does Host Routing Table do the same thing ?
