RIM seems to be having a outage that’s affecting the entire UK. At this time we do not have anymore information but as it comes in, we will update the post.
I think, reading between the lines, this was not a total network outage. But all BES servers in region were disconnected under their SRP status, RIM confirmed that much to me. Sporadic reports of issues with BIS also.

I had no problems at all today.
I did however get a wonderful message from T-mobile UK stating:
"Over the next couple of days we're improving your local network to give you an even better experience. we apologise for any loss of service during this time."
Maybe after this i'll actually get 3G in most of my house and not just in the inconveient places to stand in my house

I had a problem with the bold never staying connected to 3G and once lost would never come back. usually lost when trying to web browse on 3G, even when having 5 bars.
Trying it for longer, I realised that it will come back, only at certain places in the house and no matter where I am, will usually drop to GPRS when trying to web browse.
Sigh oh well.
I am interested to hear anything else about the local network improving....are they increasing 3G capabilities or just upgrading their old towers?
