Default Dissapearing icons when changing themes

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I've tried searching for this and all I've found thus far are "some icons disappear when you change themes" or the like.

What I want, however, is to know why some icons disappear when you change themes and what can be done about it. It seems completely ridiculous that something like this happens in the first place.

Thank you

Welcome to the forums.

It is a theme builder issue. If they do not include certain icons in their theme, you will lose the icons upon activating it. The only solution I can provide is to use themes from quality sources. These builders typically include all the needed icons.

Good Luck

Sometimes I find with some themes I have lot's of extra icons for things I don't need.

After trying a few out, I found one that gives me what I need and I'm happy It all depends on the theme and who made it.

So my SMS/MMS Icon is gone because the creator didn't put it in his design? That seems like kind of a large oversight on his part...

Can you take downloaded themes and modify them? I just downloaded the theme creator but it doesn't seem like I can open a completed theme. All I really want with mine is a second row of 6 icons to complement the default 1st row on the bold. I found a theme that did this but it doesn't have the SMS/MMS Icon. The theme is this one: gallery.mobile9. com/f/1000387/ (sorry for breakup, wont let me post regular link) (Double D - mobile9). This theme just seems to be the default bold theme, but without the SMS/MMS icon for some reason.

First, go to Messages > Options > General Options and see if SMS & Email Inboxes is set to Theme Controlled. If it is, change it to Separate.

You cannot edit a theme without having the .thm file.

They are not gone forever. They are (99% of the time) hidden. Checking show all will bring them and everything else you have hidden back. You just have to put a ton of time into arranging the new theme the way you want. If you go back to your old theme it will be the way you left it. If you try another theme you start all over.

Thanks- this is actually a good thing to know (about the theme control).

I've tried searching for stock themes to manipulate but any search returns 1000 sites for me to download there themes. Know where I can get stock themes or any other good resource?

This was actually the first thing I checked. Went through and did show all in every folder- they never appeared.

The weirdest thing though is that the stock Blackberry and stock AT&T themes dont even have all the same icons. That's just laziness on both of their parts.
