Cool Wifi on OS 5.0.0.411

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, after upgrading from v4 to v5.0.0.411, my wifi does not work as before.

My phone company has cut off the service because I haven't paid the last bill for five days or so, but even though I couldn't make outgoing calls, my wifi used to work so I could receive emails and pins.

Any experts have any suggestions on how to make it work again till I get to pay the bill?

Thanks!

well thanks for stating the obvious. I will do when I can.

as I said it was working ok for the previous version so can't figure out why an OS update would change anything.

I can browse the web with the hotspot browser but no email/pin's.

Under "Host Routing Tables", I don't see any entries - blank screen. Any chance this could be the problem?

Thanks

In one way this doesn't make sense to me.

e-mail and PIN rely on the cell phone network (or at least redirection from the cell phone company)

If your service is cut off, SOME wi-fi stuff will work. I had the same expereince on my old phone before work started paying my bills. Wi-Fi should work on the browser.

I wouldn't expect e-mail or PIN to work at those use the cell network and are associated with your phone/data plan, which is cut off.

Pay up :P

Don't expect ANYthing but the hotspot browser to work on WiFi only, with not BIS data.

No email, no PIN, etc.

That needs a bit of clarification. Mail and PIN work fine over wifi ONLY, provided your data plan is still active (read: you have paid your bills) so you can drop transport on RIM infrastructure over wifi. And yes JSanders i know that's what you meant, no need to reply, just thought the wording wasn't clear enough.
