Default 2g/3g nightmare...

Please Login to Remove!

AS well as my 9700 being useless at snapping back to a network once it has come out of an area with no signal. I have noticed a nice new problem that really winds me up. It's all to do with options > mobile network.
The default is 3G&2G and that should be that right? Wrong. When 3g isn't available the handset doesn't snap to a 2G signal so instead you have no signal. I have to change the mobile network options to 2G just to get a signal when I know I am in an area with reception. How do I fix this. I want my handset to go to GPRS not a small 3g with nothing happening. Any help/advice massively appreciated

What version of the handheld OS is on your 9700?

Have you tried upgrading or downgrading? Did you experience this issue with other versions of the OS?

I would consider exchanging the device. Sounds like defective hardware because it should not behave the way you're seeing it behave.
