Default Need Telstra Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I am new to Blackberry and have just inherited a Torch 9800 and signed to to Telstra Australia's bolt on BIS and duly received a message that I am now registered with the wireless network. However, I cannot access the net or set up e-mail accounts. My Service Status shows my Mobile Voice connected to Mobile Network
the Blackberry Internet Service - Mobile Network
Blackberry Enterprise Server - Not Connected
Mobile Coverage - EDGE
Provider - Telstra

I am sure all of this is second nature to experienced users, but I have no idea on where to go to from here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

So, sounds like you do have a BlackBerry data plan on your line, and also sounds like yor BlackBerry is connecting to the RIM BlackBerry servers, if you indeed are getting EDGE in all caps.

The first two troubleshooting steps are hard reset and re-sending service books. A hard reset is performed by removing the battery while the power is on and waiting 30 seconds before putting the battery back.

You can re-send service books from the handset provided the email setup app is connecting to the network. Or, use the BIS web portal provided by Telstra. Or, call Telstra customer service and ask them to re-send the service books.

If neither of these steps is the solution, talk to Telstra and have them check over your account setup on their end.

Happy to hear it.

Can you describe the problem? Was it in fact something on your end? Or was it something with your account on Telsta's side?
