If that's true, and I have no reason to doubt you, is there a way to display that code on my BB?

Unfortunatly not. The MSLs are generated at the factory (randomly I believe) and then provided in a list to the carriers. Outside of making friends at RIM or Bell there is no way (that I know of) to retrieve the MSL.

I don't think it is worth trying it. First, the MSL is probably impossible to get. But also, if anything goes wrong, it may not be covered under warranty. Take it to a dealer if you can.

Thank's for the thoughts, without the MSL I'm sunk. Looks like a 500 mile trip to the nearest Bell World, Ontario is a BIG province!!! I'm going to see if I can send the unit for update but Bell is anal about the fact that I have to be there.

I wouldn't be concerned about voiding the warranty. As long as the hardware shows no signs of physical abuse the warranty should be honoured.

I hate to point this out, but it looks like the data prices have increased for some plans.
Light ($25/month) is now $12 / MB
Standard ($40/month) is now $8 / MB
Premium ($60/month) is now $6 / MB

The per-MB prices that you've quoted are the charges levied for tethering on Bell Mobility's lower-tier RIM data rate plans. Those charges have been in place and have not increased since the 7130e launched in November.
For a full breakdown of Bell Mobility's RIM data pricing go to:

Got a buddy on a flight to Sault, my unit is now upgraded with new PRL. Voice is working. Battery drain is significant (I'm setting to 1X only). BUT.. no DATA so far, the Bell techs are looking at it. I only get 1x. I'm on the wait 48 hour routine.

Well things get more and more interesting. In my case I did this upgrade to get a new PRL so that I could talk on another carriers digital towers. I needed PRL 30385 or higher. My data connection was working fine. After the upgrade my data no longer works. Data here is supported by Thunder Bay Telephones (affiliated directely with Bell Canada) BUT the Bell techs tell me that my new upgraded BB now uses a MIP connection and TB Tel does not support this. So no data for me!! That I assume will also be true for all you folks who have upgraded and travel into the north. I plan to talk to TB Tel tuesday. If this can't be solved I will have to try and go back in software, or sell this new upgraded device and perhaps purchase a new one. (It;s no wonder us northeners feel left out!!)

I'm glad to say I finally got the EVDO upgrade. Voyageur is now working, but it appears that only some ports (internet and email are open). I am unable to FTP. Anyone else notice this?

I've just tested on my Bell Mobility 7250 and I can ftp without problems. Although, I do not use Voyageur to handle my network connection ... I'll try it that way and report again.
UPDATE:
FTP access works fine while using Voyageur to handle the network connection.

That's using port 21? For example, if you type in this:
ftp://jefwic.com
It will come up (at least prompt you for username/password)?

Just tried again, no luck. I'm getting a "Could not connect"/"A timeout occured" error messages (depending on if I use an FTP client or IE).
The good news is that I can access SFTP/SSH on port 22 to my server, which is great, however I would like to get port 21 working.
This is quite strange. I am just south of Calgary, Alberta in a Bell 1XEV area.
