I was trying to get the TCP connection working with my Cingular 7100g by entering these settings:

APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN:
Password for APN: CINGULAR1

So after entering these settings, I did the hard reset and it didn't work. Now I am unable to try other settings. The TCP settings are set in stone and can no longer be changed. They are:

APN: (blank)
Username for APN:
Password for APN: CINGULAR1

No matter what I enter here, when I do the hard reset, they return back to these same settings. APN is always blank, and the username and password are those 2 settings.

What should I do?

Nope. It didn't work.

You may have to reinstall the OS but you shouldn't have needed to do a hard reset anyway.

Since this is a new phone (only 1 day old), I have not yet messed with the settings enough to worry about saving anything, so after calling Cingular support, I did a handheld wipe. And guess what.....it worked!

Everything was returned to the way it was when I first turned on the Blackberry yesterday, except for one thing. VeriChat stayed on the Blackberry, but it too was reset to the way it was the first time I turned it on.

So I will try again now and see if it works.

Now it is working fine with wap.cingular. When I was on the phoen before with the Cingular rep, he added the WIX line items. I just hope I am not charged extra. We will see....

As far as putting the settings in the TCP fields, it appears that if I put them in those fields and then do a hard reset, they are erased. But if I fill in the fields and then open verichat without doing a hard reset, everything works fine. I still haven't figured out why....??
