Default 8700 with Orange payg?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an Orange payg sim (GPRS enabled) in my pda, which I wish to use in the BB.

I've spent ages on the phone to Orange, trying to find out if it will work. I don't want to use BES, just pop mail.

Please can anyone give me a definite answer as I've bought this from ebay and worried that I won't be able to use it! (Seller hasn't posted it yet)

Thanks

If you use a PAYG SIM in a BlackBerry device, the only functions available will be phone and SMS. No functions, such as browsing or e-mail, that require data usage will work without the BlackBerry specific data tariff, which is generally not available to PAYG customers. This applies to all providers around the world.

Unless you have a BlackBerry Data Plan all you will have is voice and SMS. The GPRS plan from Orange will not get you on to the RIM Infrastructure. You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan.

oh bloody hell. I must have mentioned "Blackberry Data Plan" about 20 times on the phone to Orange and the woman didn't know what it was!

Looks like I'll have a BB to sell!

It's the same everywhere mate. Most provider representatives have no clue about their services and devices.
