I just recently noticed that when I receive a new message, I get a basic series of somewhat quiet tones at the same time as the first vibration, then the second vibration occurs, then it plays the Notifier_Nymph sound twice. I never used to get the basic series of tones when it would vibrate and it is annoying me that I can't find a way to fix this. I have tried changing the mp3 that is played, but it does not make a difference. I have also wiped the device and the series of tones still play prior to vibrating.

Has anyone ever heard of this? I appreciate any help you can provide to get rid of the series of tones

What are your profile settings on the phone? Maybe that is where the issue is.

I am using the "Normal" profile with the following settings...

Out of Holster: Vibrate+Tone
Tune: Notifier_Nymph
Volume: Medium
# of beeps: 2
Repeat Notification: LED Flashing

In Holster: Vibrate+Tone
Tune: Notifier_Nymph
Volume: Medium
# of beeps: 2
Repeat Notification: LED Flashing

I just also noticed that the tones I'm hearing are exactly the same as the "BlackBerry 1" midi tone on the 7290.

The tones also play when in Vibrate only mode too. :(

I found the following posting regarding a 7100 which has the same problem I am experiencing...

I hope this is a bug. There isn't any new software available right now for the Sprint BlackBerry that can fix this (to my knowledge). I am running v4.1.0.359.
