I finally got around to updating to the O2 OS. My pearl did the dreaded message delete and call lot delete 2 days ago. I had plenty of memory left and I've read the other possibility is an OS issue. So that was enough to prompt me to update to the new OS.

Point of all this is that my MMS is now working. As I've tested this a thousand ways now, I'm certain this is one key to getting the MMS to work with Cingular.

Incidentally, I'm using the [email address]. Not the CINGULARPGPRS setting I was using initially.

For BES users, apparently the OS update does the trick.

Default Mms On Cingular Works

I just got it to work after downloading the OS2

I can only send as an MMS, how do you send the picture to an email address instead of an MMS address

These are my settings

APN:wap.cingular
Username for APN:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password for APN: CINGULAR1

To send a pic through email your bberry server has to be the most current (i think 4.2) I also am runnig bes throug mailstreet and can tell you that they do not run the most current server.

If you set up an email account through your provider with blackberry eg. ****@cingular.blackberry.net) and send a pic using that account ot will work because the blackberry server is the most current and able to handle media.

I never updated my os and just tried adding the apn and it did not work. I even pulled out battery and reset and still get red x immediately. I guess the os update is the key.

Check with your provider.. They might be behind on service packs on their BES-- Pearl support is available in an updated BES patch

Default Pearl problem

Hi I'm new to the forum so I hope I am in the right thread.
I have an 8100 pearl through Cingular. I am on a BES server that does have the lastest OS. 4.1.sp2

Still getting a Red X when trying to send an attachment. It works fine through the BIS but not BES. Is there anything I need to update on the pearl itself. From what I read the Server OS should have fixed it.

Thanks

I tried the both of the APN settings and neither worked (left GPRS in there). Then I called Cingular support... I didn't bring up the snooper app because I like to play dumb at first to see where they go with it on their own. Basically, all the guy did was update my IMEI # in their system and after a reboot mms was flowing. Sorry, I forgot to ask if he had indeed used the snooper app.

I can only speak for my self, I just tried the steps provided by toure and it worked perfect. This goes to show you the level of knowledge that some of the Cingular techs have.

I read about not being able to send MMS using the 8100. I had a 7130c and I was able to send MMS no problem. I got an unlocked TMO 8100 that Ixxx8217;ve been using with Cingular and I wasnxxx8217;t able to send MMS (until now).

I spent endless amount of hours with every tier level of Cingular technical support team and they were not able to resolve the problem.

Thanks

All -

Maybe I am missing something, but I have had a true Cingy 8100C with no mods or hacks to any settings. I have been able to MMS on my Pearl since day one which was sometime in December 2006.

I am on BES (not sure of version), have Cing International BB Plan, and te largest MMS/SMS plan that Cing offers.

I have been able to send MMS to the following:

- MMS to Cingular Mobile Number Treo 650
- MMS to another Cingular 8100c
- MMS to Verizon MMS capable phone
- MMS to standard email address

I have had issues receiving MMS from NON Cingular phones, but this is only delayed messaging.

I receive all MMS from Cingular devices.

I would be happy to share any settings if that helps anyone.
